Shadwell

Tina Bunton, Human Resources Manager, speaks to us about why Shadwell chose The Mental Health Toolkit to deliver workplace wellbeing training, following a company restructure.

From creating a foundation for workplace wellbeing, to equipping key team members with the skills to deal with severe challenges, The Mental Health Toolkit works across the Mental Health Continuum to support both national and international businesses.

In March 2019, Shadwell – a global thoroughbred racing and breeding enterprise - had a company restructure, resulting in a new focus on employee mental health.

That’s when they contacted The Mental Health Toolkit, to help them put wellbeing at the heart of their organisation.

They began by booking Tina Bunton, Human Resources Manager, and Mark Mitchell, Health, Safety and Environment Advisor onto The Comprehensive Toolkit.

This eight-module course provides:

  • In-depth knowledge and training
  • Practical and effective tools
  • Techniques to support people with severe and enduring mental ill-health

Equipped with fresh understanding and the confidence to support their team, Tina decided to book all line managers onto The Essentials, our half-day workshop, to instil a shared approach to workplace wellbeing.

Tina says:

“We chose The Mental Health Toolkit because the training allows you to understand the whole picture of individual needs, and offers a safe space for discussion and support.

“The training has given us all more confidence and opened the door to healthier discussions about mental health.

“Together, these courses have removed many misconceptions and we feel confident that we now have a framework in place to listen and support each other.

“We have also gone beyond our training by appointing Wellbeing Champions, as we believe that, by equipping our teams with a greater understanding of mental health, we can build team trust, and retain and recruit employees.”

“We continue to work with The Mental Health Toolkit, by taking full advantage of the resources provided to ensure we maintain our workplace wellbeing culture for many years to come”.
